Charity Shop Challenge Part 3 0

Well I dont think I won but er.....not too worried about that like I said just doing what I do best at Oxfam on Saturdays and loving it. Were working on some themes for the next coming weeks and I am enjoying that muchly. On to more boring matters Ive got an exam coming up and that is driving me absolutely crazy. I tend to have a thing if I dont get something I will just sit and keep at it until I do. I remember once I spent 1415 hours in the library just reading about this thing that I just didnotget.I got it in the end more importantly I got it in time for the exam must not sit indoors for 15 hours must leave house tomorrow must get fresh air

Yardsellr.com review

I love these new selling sites that are springing up such as etsy.com for creative types and preloved.co.uk for vintage secondhand types like meself Just had a look at Yardsellr.com American by name even though theyve missed out an e maybe theyre following the flickr thing and American by nature the currency is USD.Lovely interface the brown is growing on me but I dont see at the moment how to buy anything.See when I type vintage into the search box which even on the Buy tab has a sell button in order to function it just takes me right back to the sell your item form.I find it very tedious having to scroll through oodles of pictures of sellers just to see their items. I just want to be able to search the item that I want hit the buy button and pay.A website that doesnt work is far worse than no website at all and this Yardsellr.com for me at the moment is a wesbite that doesnt do what its supposed to do.I will keep watching though maybe theyll fix the issues.

Croydon Charity Shop Challenge Part 2

httpwww.croydonguardian.co.ukfashionfestivalchallengevoteAll so exciting Ive voted on a favourite window obviously I havent voted on my own that would be cheating A big problem I had is that every time I put something on display in the window someone would buy it LOL well I guess ultimately that is the objective from Oxfam Purleys perspective of course to increase sales Like I said whether or not I win I am really very pleased with the window dressing stuff because I am doing something for charity permanently and something that I enjoy doing x x

Got no car

Okay I know its a luxury theres a lot of people on foot out there.....but in my own daily life that doesnt make it any easier to deal withAnd it was my own silly fault as well......grrrrrr.......Saying that because Im on public transport for the next couple of days I spoke to this guy at TfL to get some advice on bus times. We were sharing stories and our histories collided in so many ways. It was pretty surreal actually.Managed to get through some of the things I had to do today but not so much without my vehicle. Hmmmmm.....

Croydon Charity Shop Challenge

As part of Croydons Fashion Week event I am taking part in a Charity Shop Challenge Competition which is basically to pimp up a charity shop window. I was there on Friday just picking up the clothes and doing lots of trial and error for the window display. Ive even managed to land myself a voluntary visual merchandiser window displayer role on Saturdays this makes me really happy its a skill that I have and I am more than happy to donate my time to do this.I think its really important that charity shops are able to maximise their window areas because even though theyre charities at the end of the day they have to act like fierce capitalists to get funds to be able to carry out the good work that they do. And the window display is the first point of call for the customer. Its a thoroughly enjoyable activity and I will update you with more information as I get on whether or not I win the Charity Shop Challenge I dont know but I am happy to be doing the voluntary work on Saturdays anyw...

So spring is here summer is coming....

....and the vintage fairs and car boot fairs are coming back to townI am very excited about this as there is nothing I like more than a real good old rummage or even to clear out my own clothing as I have a bit of a clothing addiction.Next weekend it is very likely that I will be selling at a car boot fair in sunny South London somewhere I just hope that the weather holds up as well as it has been. Im just having deliberations with myself as to which boot fair I will be at Nothing worse than a rainy car boot fair your stuff gets soaked. I remember at one boot fair the weather went from blue sky and hot sunshine to just clouds and heavy rain in literally zero to sixty.I literally witnessed people get up pack up what they could salvage jump in their cars and navigate their way to the exit simply leaving the ruined items behind at the mercy of the flooding from the heavens.I hope thats not me next week
